Commercial Refrigeration Maintenance & Service Contracts

Poorly maintained refrigeration runs harder, costs more and fails at the worst time. Active's scheduled maintenance keeps your cool rooms, fridges and ice machines reliable, efficient and compliant — single-site or across multiple locations — so you're not paying for an emergency callout and a skip of spoiled stock.

Why maintenance pays

The cheapest fault is the one you prevent

A breakdown costs you twice — the emergency callout and the stock you write off. Scheduled servicing catches the early signs before they take a unit down on a Friday night.

Fewer breakdowns

A worn fan motor, a blocked condenser or a tired door gasket gives plenty of warning if someone's looking. We catch those on a scheduled visit so they don't become an after-hours emergency and a bin of spoiled stock.

Lower energy bills

A dirty condenser and a low charge make a system run longer and hotter to hold the same temperature. Clean coils, correct pressures and good seals mean it works less for the same result — and your power bill reflects it.

Audit-ready records

Every visit leaves a temperature and service record, so your food-safety paperwork stays current and you're ready when the inspector calls. One less thing to scramble for.

What's included

Our commercial maintenance checklist

A scheduled commercial service is a full health check of the system, not a quick look. Every visit, a licensed technician works through:

  • Clean condenser & evaporator coils
  • Flush & clear condensate drains
  • Check & adjust operating pressures & superheat
  • Inspect & lubricate fans & motors
  • Check belts for wear & tension
  • Test safety & electrical controls
  • Verify voltages & amperages
  • Tighten electrical connections
  • Check door seals & gaskets
  • Log temperatures for compliance

For domestic and light-commercial fridges we run a leaner version — coil clean, drain check, seal and temperature check, with a report. Ice machines get a descale and sanitise; ask about adding that to your plan on our ice machine service page.

Spot a fault during a service? We flag it, quote it upfront and only fix it once you approve — your scheduled visit never turns into a surprise invoice.

Service contracts

A plan that fits your sites

Whether you run one café or fifty retail sites, a service agreement takes the thinking out of upkeep and puts you at the front of the queue when something does go wrong.

Priority response

Contract sites jump the queue when a breakdown happens, with our 24/7 line behind you. Less downtime, less stock at risk.

Per-site reporting

A clear record for each location — what we checked, what we found and the temperatures logged — so if you run several sites you see them all at a glance.

Better rates

Planned servicing is scheduled in advance and priced accordingly, with contract discounts on labour — predictable cost instead of emergency premiums.

FAQ

Refrigeration maintenance questions

How often should a commercial fridge be serviced?
For most commercial sites, every six months is a sensible baseline — quarterly for hard-working kitchen and bar equipment or dusty, high-load environments. We set the frequency per unit based on how hard it works and where it sits, so you're not over- or under-servicing. Critical or high-risk equipment is serviced more often.
What's included in a maintenance visit?
A full health check: cleaning condenser and evaporator coils, flushing condensate drains, checking and adjusting operating pressures and superheat, inspecting and lubricating fans and motors, checking belts, testing safety and electrical controls, verifying voltages and amperages, tightening connections, checking door seals and gaskets, and logging temperatures for compliance. You get a written record each visit.
Does maintenance actually lower energy bills?
Yes. A dirty condenser, a slipping charge or worn door seals all force a system to run longer and harder to hold temperature, which shows up directly on your power bill. Clean coils, correct pressures and good seals let the system reach setpoint faster and rest, so it draws less power for the same result.
Can you maintain refrigeration across multiple sites?
Yes — looking after businesses with several locations is a big part of what we do. We schedule across all your sites, report per site, and give contract sites priority response when a breakdown happens. One team and one point of contact for the lot, with consistent records.
What if you find a fault during a service?
We flag it, explain it plainly and give you an upfront quote. Nothing is repaired without your approval, so a scheduled service never becomes a surprise invoice. Catching a worn part on a planned visit is almost always cheaper than the emergency callout it would have caused.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold an ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence (L057415), an NSW contractor licence (330089C), and we're an ASSA member, fully insured and an Australian business since 2013 (ABN 90 166 129 102).
