A walk-in freezer asks more of every component than a chiller does. Here's what we specify and service for sub-zero rooms.
100–150mm PIR/PUR-cored panels — the thicker core a freezer needs so the unit isn't running flat-out forever.
A bigger, correctly sized condensing unit and low-temp evaporator to handle the deep sub-zero pull-down and hold.
Sub-zero doors need a heated frame so they don't ice shut, plus self-closers and gaskets that seal against frost build-up.
A proper timed defrost cycle clears coil ice so the freezer keeps performing — off-cycle defrost won't cut it below zero.
Digital controllers, high-temp alarms and data-logging so a drift gets flagged before stock is lost.

Freezer room, cold room or cool room?
A freezer room goes sub-zero — typically around −18°C to −25°C — to freeze and hold stock long-term, and it needs heated doors and a proper electric or hot-gas defrost cycle to keep working. A cold room sits at 0°C to +5°C for chilled storage, and a cool room a touch warmer at +2°C to +8°C for fresh produce and drinks. Get the type wrong and you'll either spoil stock or pay to over-refrigerate it.
